Dresden's Herkuleskeule is one of the longest-serving cabarets and was founded in 1961 by Manfred Schubert in the cellar of an old church ruin. Here, Wolfgang Stumph, Manfred Breschke and Uwe Steimle, among others, developed into renowned cabaret artists.
In 2017, the cabaret moved to its new venue and is now at home in the cabaret cellar of the Dresden Kulturpalast. In over 100 guest performances each year, the ensemble travels the length and breadth of the country and, with around 350 performances a year in the new cabaret cellar and nine programmes in the programme, has long been a well-known institution in Germany.
